Amazon Prime released its documentary series ‘NFTMe’, covering the potential impact of Non-Fungible Tokens, or NFTs.
Episode 1 explores NFT journeys of artists, collectors and professionals, with leading influencers’ breakdowns on blockchain. The 6 x 30-min episodes stream on Amazon Prime in the US and UK, and should roll out to more broadcasters in 2023. Check the VR release here.
Yuga Labs

Yuga Labs has a new CEO. The ex-COO of Activision Blizzard (creator of World of Warcraft, Call of Duty & Candy Crush) Daniel Alegre also worked at Google for 16 years as President of Global & Strategic Partnerships.
Coindesk is bullish, saying “FTX was run by a clown who slept on a bean-bag. This guy ain’t doing that.”
Epic Games

Fortnite creator and self-described metaverse builder Epic Games will pay $520m in settlements to the US Federal Trade Commission over allegations of deceptive practices with in-game purchases and failing to protect childrens’ privacy.
Metaverse Game Studios
- Dec 20
Metaverse Game Studios (creator of League of Legends, Diablo and Immortal) expanded its AAA Web3 game Angelic from Ethereum/Solana to ImmutableX. Backed by Animoca, Pantera and EveryRealm, the game generated over 170k registrations in under a month.
Angelic will run its Alpha test near the end of January. The public launch will happen in February, with NFT holders able to trade their NFTs.

- Dec 20
The Sandbox published final figures of its recent three-phased LAND sale — California Dreamin, The Galleria and K-verse, with 600 first-time buyers and 1,331 LANDs sold.
Polka Pets

PolkaPets opened registration for their 3rd Polygon Pet NFT rarity, Royal Sapphire, with players having the chance to win one for free. PolkaPets also announced that utilities and claim instructions will be announced in January as a New Year’s gift to all.
Star Atlas

Star Atlas kicked off its first land sale.
Total land supply in the Solana-based gaming MV is fixed, so land scarcity could come into play over time. Land prices range from $80 up to $2 million. Early landowner perks include a 15% discount, WL for commercial sales, pre-built customizable habitats, a Star Atlas ship plus a commemorative NFT.

Upland held its Christmas Story House Landmark Auction. The starting price was 4,500,000 UPX.

Yahoo kicked off the Multiverse Buzz Awards Ceremony in their Decentraland HQ, Yahoo HK Buzzland. The event, one of the largest award ceremonies for celebrity icons in HK, runs to Dec 30, and includes a gallery and mini-games.

Decentraland launched the Holiday Seasons tab in the Marketplace. Creators can add the tag #Holiday Season# to their holiday-themed wearables and emotes.

Decentraland launched its Worlds Beta! Worlds are personal virtual spaces (separate from Genesis City and its system of LANDs) available to anyone with a Decentraland NAME to create and host events in. The product update aims to lower the barriers to becoming a creator.
