7-day data shows VRE market cap for the 10 projects on OneLand up 1.84% to 676,129 ETH, supported by rises in land caps for Otherside (+ 0.88%), The Sandbox (+6.2%) and Decentraland (+1.96%).
But with ETH seeing out the week down 8.93%, the entire crypto market feeling the reverberations of a BTC freefall that kicked off Thursday, VRE caps in USD terms finished out the week worse for wear, -6.67% to $1.14 billion. Overall crypto market cap ended the week down 9.67%.
In line with that, major metaverse tokens $SAND (-15.4%), $MANA (-13.9%) and $APE (-20%) plummeted.
The notable exception was $TOPIA, down just 1%, as HYTOPIA presented its updated, and apparently justifiably hyped, blockchain — see Project Updates, below. More notably, $TOPIA’s listing on CoinGecko Wednesday saw it soar to close in on ATHs.
Overall, data showed land trading firing up around the Metaverse, all but 2 of the 10 projects experiencing upturns in sales and volumes, and OneLand-listed projects recording its highest aggregate volume in 6 weeks.
Voxels looked the standout, with volume and sales numbers up 412% and 264% respectively. Meanwhile, a Premium LAND passed hands for 29.99 ETH at The Sandbox, a top sale in over 3mths.
But things get clearer when peaking into Otherside, where 7-day volume reached its highest in 6 weeks (+61.1%), due to a slew of 18–20 ETH trades in the space of 24hrs — of the same Deed! Meanwhile, land cap of Otherdeeds achieved its first weekly movement to the upside in 3mths.

ILLUVIUM — 8.14: Illuvium Zero Tech Update. Incl. upgrades to security, biodata & overall integration.
GALVERSE — 8.15: Anime studio Shinsei Galverse introduced ERC6551, aka Token Bound Accounts (TBA) for its holders. A TBA makes it possible for NFTs to have their own wallet, the token itself holding custody of other tokens, incl. NFTs!
HYTOPIA — 8.16: Hytopia finalized its initial baseline contract for on-chain player accts:
- Players can sign in to HYTOPIA via email and Discord
- Smart contract account wallets tie to player accounts
Founder ArkDev says the implementation unlocks things impossible in other EVM chains e.g. subscription payments, account recovery & gasless txs, while on-chain accounts can be fully ported to any other EVM chain.
THE SANDBOX — 8.16: TSB launched new tools for LANDowners to build and share experiences. Our partner NFTPlazas breaks it down:

FC BARCELONA — 8.11: FC Barcelona scored €120m from Libero Football Finance and Nipa Capital to fund a Web3 NFT & metaverse initiative.
LEDGER x PAYPAL: Ledger launched a new on-ramp solution with PayPal, with hardware wallet owners able to use PayPal accounts to purchase crypto incl. BTC, ETH, BCH & LTC.
BITGO: Crypto custodian BitGo secured $100m in Series C funding, raising the company’s valuation to $1.75bn. BitGo processes 20% of all on-chain BTC transactions by value.
POLYGON x SK TELECOM: Polygon Labs & SK Telecom are partnering to incubate Web3 projects, while the Korean mobile giant’s NFT marketplace TopPort will also support the Polygon chain.
